Mission & Goals

The mission of the District 837 Foundation is to promote the advancement of quality education and the pursuit of life long learning in the Madelia Community. To carry out this mission, the Foundation encourages the empowerment of innovative classroom instruction, the facilitation of enrichment opportunities, the acquisition of life and parental skills, and supports community based education.

Gifts and Giving

Designated Gifts:

A gift may be given for a particular purpose or program under our mission. As a designated gift, both your gift and any interest earned from it will be used according to your wishes to further the objectives of the program you designated or to purchase the gift you named.

Undesignated Gifts:

Unspecified donations will be invested or distributed by the Foundation Board.

Endowed Gifts:

Endowment donations will become a permanent resource to help meet the changing needs of the Madelia community, as defined in our Articles of Incorporation. Your endowed gift will be invested for growth. The interest earned will support the Foundation’s mission. The endowed gift may be earmarked to support a particular program and be administered by the Foundation, or, in the case of unspecified endowments, the Foundation Directors will disburse the interest through specific purchases or mini-grants.

Tax Deductible

Because the Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all your donations are tax deductible.

Forms of Giving

Gifts may take the form of cash, checks, bequests, charitable remainder trusts, pledges, stocks, bonds, real estate, and/or as a part of an employee matching payroll deduction. Gifts may be made in the form of a memorial, holiday gift, or to mark a special occasion, event, or anniversary.
